Very good experience so far. I got a pretty quick response from the Lawyer Referral service, they got me aligned with an attorney willing to speak to me in person. He was more than patient with all my issues regarding my case, and could even understand why I was so frustrated. Now, as soon as I make my decision on how to handlle this, I feel if I am willing to go forward, I think, hopefully, he might be on board to help me with this problem. Still waiting for a referral….. going on three weeks now. They aren’t returning phone calls either but considering their current operating hours how could they ever find the time. Santa Cruz needs better options because this is pathetic.
Update- turns out that they only had a few or zero lawyers on their list who specialized in the two areas I was requesting. Eviction and civil litigation. Why wouldn’t they tell me that before taking my CC info and making me hang on to a hope and a prayer that legal help was coming to me in a matter of days. It’s actually pretty mean to do that to people. Just be upfront from the beginning about who you have on your list of attorneys. And also, don’t have your name on legal help available for evictions on the courts website and other organizations recommending people call you for help. You are of NO HELP and you waste peoples
time.
